Flyer (form) and Flyer

Greetings!

My name is Terrye Y. Hicks and I am the leader of the Hands of Praise Sign Language Ministry at Green Pastures Christian Ministries, Inc. I want to let you know about a conference coming up in January. Green Pastures Christian Ministries, Inc. and Hands of Praise presents: DeSIGNed to Worship Conference 2008. This conference focuses on worship and the interpreter. It will feature many prominent, well known people in the deaf community as well as our very own Apostle Collette L. Gunby and Pastor Douglas Gunby.

This conference mainly deals with worship on an intimate level: explaining what it is, why it's necessary and how interpreters can include worship in their signing and everyday lives. It promises to empower and enlighten, inspire and encourage. God has blessed us with such a passion for worship and we aim to share it with the world.

I would love for you to come and be a part of this wonderful 3-day conference. Complete details (including, conference guests and workshop topics) and registration information are attached. Please come and worship with us and be a part of this breath-taking experience....while you're at it, HELP US TO SPREAD THE WORD!

We have all been DeSIGNed by God for this very purpose; it is now time TO discover the WORSHIPper in you!

Deaf Life Group Bible Study

Oh, I forgot to put "in sign language only".
Cynthia L.W. Frey

Deaf Life Group Bible Studyy
(In Sign Language Only--No voices)
Maybe you haven't had a chance to learn about the Bible in sign
language or maybe you want to study the Bible more with other people,
using sign.

Come join us as we look together for answers to life's questions, in
the Bible.

The group is limited to 10 people. We meet for 30 minutes with light
refreshments, one hour of Bible study, then 30 minutes of sharing and
prayer. This is open to men and women ages 16 to 100. We will be
more than a class; we'll support each other as we face life's ups and
downs together. You will be surprised how much this will help
satisfy your heart's needs.

Come be with us.

(By the way, you will not be pressured to join a certain church.)

Meet with us Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Harvest Point Church in McDonough

Harvest Point Church in McDonough is starting a new Bible Study class
every Sunday from 9:25 to 10:25. Dee Ann Harmon will be teaching and
our focus is for deaf teenagers to learn more about the bible, and the
study of God's Word through visual examples, drama, written
presentation, and of course signing the story. If you have a teenager
that is interested, we would love to have them come. We also have the
church service interpreted every Sunday at 10:30.

The pastor, Steven, is hearing, but he makes the messages come alive
with visual examples. He has a blend of teaching and applying the
bible to real life situations. For directions visit

Faith and Disability - Survey

I know many of you are concerned with people with disabilities and their
involvement in places of worship. With that in mind, please consider
completing this nine question survey It is being conducted by the
Interfaith Disabilities Network at the Bobby Dodd Institute.

All answers will be compiled in an official report, "The State of Faith and
Disability in Georgia."

It is our hope that this report will drive the change necessary to bridge
the gap between the disability and faith communities.

Thank you.

 Centennial Anniversary (100 Years)

Liberty Baptist Church (address below) is proud to announce their
Centennial (100 Year) Anniversary! This great event will happen on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 10:00am and 3:00pm. We would also like to invite members of the Deaf/HH Community to come out and attend this wonderful service. We will have sign language interpreters there so that all can enjoy this time of celebration! We look forward to seeing you!
